Dwell secures funding Furniture retailer/cataloguer Dwell has secured a £5 million investment from private-equity firm Key Capital Partners. KCP will take a minority shareholding in the business as it ramps up its retail presence from 19 to 52 stores by 2014. Total sales from Dwell’s high street, online and catalogue channels were £25.8 million in the year to 31st January 2010.

Findel to sell Express Gifts? Findel is reportedly considering a sale of its Express Gifts business. According to speculation in the Sunday newspapers, multititle catalogue group N Brown is the likeliest buyer. In related news, Findel’s recently divested wedding-supplies brand Confetti, which was placed into administration by new owner The Hut Group, is nearing a sale. Customer forums on Confetti’s website confirm that orders are being despatched and a formal announcement is expected soon.

Mobile Fun’s French-language website beats targets Mobile phone accessories etailer Mobile Fun has launched a website for French consumers. The new site, www.mobilefun.fr, which launched in July, is managed from Mobile Fun’s French offices in Paris and is already beating its initial sales targets, with more than 2,500 orders placed in the first two months of trading. France is the third European country in which Mobile Fun has a local presence; the German website started trading in 2008 and is one of Mobile Fun’s fastest growing websites.

New head of marketing at Firebox Gifts and gadgets etailer Firebox has appointed a new head of marketing to take over from managing director and current head of marketing Christian Robinson, who steps down this month. Pete Danks joins from business-card etailer Moo.com, where he was head of acquisition marketing. He also previously worked for Yahoo! where he led partner marketing at comparison site Kelkoo. The announcement follows the recent appointment of Paul Zimmerman as managing director.

4imprint overhauls website search With a choice of more than 2,250 personalised promotional items on its website, 4imprint has made it easier for its customers to find what they are looking for. It has revised and upgraded the search facilities on its website to enable items to be cross-referenced into more than one category, for example, a mug can appear in the eco-friendly category, a giveaway, or an office item. Customers can search by the category most logical to them, by price, shape, customer rating, or minimum quality.

Manage the mail order catalogue for a leading national brand.
You will be responsible for managing the brand, design and mailing of the catalogue for our multi-million pound business, which is achieving double-digit sales growth.
This is a great role for a marketer with creative and analytical skills. You will have previous B2C direct marketing experience, including artwork briefing, mailing selections and brand building. Experience of catalogue pagination, layout and sales analysis is desired. You’ll be collaborative, comfortable making decisions, able to manage multiple deadlines and projects and will enjoy working in a lively supportive team.
Based at the RSPB, UK Headquarters in Sandy, Bedfordshire, on a beautiful nature reserve, close to the A1 and mainline rail station.
